Owara Kaze-no-bon is traditional music and dance festival to pray for abundant harvest held annually from September 1 to 3
in Yatsuo, Toyama city, Toyama. Around 250,000 people visit Yatsuo to see it in three days. It is said that this festival started
about 300 years ago (Edo era).

Walking through the streets slowly, the dancers with Kimono dance to the melancholic music played by traditional Japanese
instruments, such as Kokyu and Shamisen, and female voice. That unique music is called Ecchu Owara-bushi. Winding and
sloping streets where the dancers go through is decorated with a lot of Japanese paper lanterns, so the atmosphere in
the night is more impressive.

This festival is silent and beautiful which many of Japanese traditional cultures are mixed. Some artists were inspired by
the beauty of this festival and made films, dramas, and songs based on it.
